There are many inspiring things about the Buy Local First initiative and the entire concept as a whole. It was started with a simple observation that the biggest threat to independent businesses is that people have stopped being mindful and thinking of them. Seeing many of the Las Vegas Valley’s businesses closing, and more corporations moving in, only proves this point.
Purchasing decisions that used to require some thought have become automatic defaults to the biggest, most familiar name available. Buy Local First exists to try and interrupt that habit, one purchase at a time.
Our Mission
We connect consumers with the independent businesses already serving their community, and we make the case for choosing them first, but not exclusively. We believe strong, local economies are built by many independent owners competing and succeeding. We don’t think a handful of dominant corporations capturing an ever larger share of everyday spending should necessarily outshine the hardworking business owners trying to keep the community alive with their services.

“Where You Spend Matters” is not only a slogan, but it’s the entire premise of the Buy Local First movement. Every purchase you make is small compared to the entire trajectory of the idea, but it’s meaningful if more and more people start doing it. This is crucially important for building the kind of local economy you want to exist inside. Buy Local First simply makes it easier to cast your vote on the local businesses on purpose.

Buy Local First Las Vegas is an initiative created by LV Strategic Business Solutions (LVSBS), a Las Vegas advertising and business solutions company, that is focused on helping independent small businesses compete, grow, and stay visible in a marketplace increasingly dominated by the large corporations.
The initiative grew from a belief that within businesses, one hand washes the other, and where we spend matters. Independent businesses do more than sell products and services. They create jobs, introduce new ideas, build relationships with their customers, and give communities their character.
However, competing for attention has gotten much more difficult for smaller businesses. Large companies have advertising budgets, name recognition, and technology that most independent businesses simply can’t match on their own.
Buy Local First Las Vegas was created to help close that gap by not only asking people to stop doing the majority of their shopping at national companies, but by encouraging them to consider a local business first, especially when a local option makes more sense.
